MPU Screencast 004: Configuring OpenDNS

MPU LogoMac Power Users Episode Screencast 004: Configuring OpenDNS is posted. In this Mac Power Users Screencast, I walk you through configuring OpenDNS to filter web traffic on your network, block certain categories of unwanted sites and enable basic security settings.

One of our resolutions for 2012 was to start screencasting regularly with Mac Power Users. This is one of the first of many screencasts to come in 2012 and beyond. Personally, this was my first serious attempt at screencasting and I can tell you that it’s a lot harder than I expected. (All hail Don McAllister!)

This screencast specifically required significant edits and annotations to remove information that could pose a security risk including my IP address and other network information from a screencast that was all about configuring the network.  I learned so much during this process and already have many ideas and tweaks in mind to make future screencasts more seamless. You can view the shownotes here.
